SULTAN SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 311 SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Sultan School District No. 311, Snohomish County, Washington (the “District”) will hold a special Board meeting on August 5, 2024, commencing at 5:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Library of Sultan Elementary School, 501 Date Street, Sultan, Washington 98294 (“Special Meeting”), as well as remotely via Zoom video conferencing at https://sultanschools.zoom.us/j/93791691670. The Special Meeting is called for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following items: 1. Resolution No. 24-03, which provides for the submission to the District’s voters, at an election to be held on November 5, 2024, of a proposition authorizing the District to issue its general obligation bonds for the purpose of paying costs of certain capital improvements to District facilities. 2. Appointment of For/Against Committee Members to write for/against statements for the Snohomish County Local Voters’ Pamphlet related to the foregoing bond proposition. 3. Sultan School District is seeking applications from persons interested in being appointed to committees to write the pro/con statements for the Snohomish County Local Voters’ Pamphlet related to the District’s bond ballot measure to be considered at the November 5th, 2024 General Election. Those interested should send their name, address, phone number, and which position they represent to: Daniel B. Baller, Director of Fiscal Services, Sultan School District, 514 4th St., Sultan, WA 98294-9474 or via email at daniel.baller@sultan.k12.wa.us by August 1st, 2024. The Board will take action on the appointments at a special meeting on Monday, August 5th, 2024.

On Monday, July 22, 2024, the school board will hold a special budget hearing meeting at 5 pm at Sultan Elementary School's library before the normally scheduled business meeting at 6 pm. The hearing will be open for public input. Thank you!

On August 10th, 2024, 9 am-4 pm, the Washington Chapter of Learning Environments is coming to Sultan Elementary School (SES) for a day of service! Work will include planting, painting, and general maintenance of the grounds. More information to come! There may be 3 board members ni attendance, which makes a quorum, but no board business items will be voted on. Everyone in the community is welcome to join and bring a friend!

Tomorrow, Thursday, June 27th, 2024, will be the start of a new Citizen Facility Advisory Committee! Everyone is welcome to join the conversation. There may be 3 or more members of the SSD Board of Directors, which makes for a quorum, but no official business will be discussed. The group will go over the post-2024 Bond Community Survey results and discuss future possibilities. This meeting will take place at 6pm in the Sultan Middle School Library located at 301 High Avenue, Sultan, WA 98294.

Yesterday, at 5 pm, the board of directors held a candidate interview for the one applicant for director district #3. The board deliberated afterward and then voted during the regular meeting at 6 pm for Michael Butler to be the new board director. He was sworn in and began his duties last night. We want to welcome Michael Butler to the Sultan School District!

On Thursday, June 20th, 2024 at 6 pm the Sultan School District Board of Directors will meet for an executive session, closed to the public, at the District Office located at 514 4th Street, Sultan, WA 98294, for the Superintendent's evaluation. Additionally, on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 5 pm, the Sultan School District Board of Directors will hold Board Candidate Interviews which will be open to the public in the Sultan Elementary School Library at 501 Date Street, Sultan, WA 98294.

Announcement for May 29th, 2024: Director District 3 is now vacant and open to apply for. The Board will accept the candidate information form, resumes, and cover letters from interested individuals from Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, until noon on Friday, June 21st, 2024. Interviews will be held at 5 pm on Monday, June 24th, 2024, before the board meeting at 6 pm.
