Welcome Back Cougar Families!
It seems like last year just ended, yet here we are, kicking off another school year! I am excited to be welcoming back all of the wonderful students and families, including MANY new faces. We are nearing 700 students and we are excited for our growth and the opportunities to impact more students.
In other exciting news, Sultan Elementary was acknowledged by the State Board of Education over the summer for multiple awards for student growth and closing achievement gaps. We continue to be rated higher than most elementary schools in our region and we attribute that to the hard work of our teachers, our students and the wonderful supports from our families at home. Thank you!
As your student’s principal I want to share the following message of the importance of consistency between school and home so we can continue to do great things and make great progress!
“If you let your child argue with you, they will argue with us.
If you let your child speak to you in a disrespectful tone, they will take that tone here at school.
If you allow your child to break rules without consequences, they will not do what we say either.
You are your child’s first and most important teacher. We can only build on the foundation you’ve laid at home.”
I look forward to working with you all this year through another productive, safe and successful year. I don’t take for granted the trust you instill in me and the staff at SES with the most important parts of your lives, your students. I promise to love and treat them as my own, in return, I ask that you assume positive intentions and greet everyday as if we are all doing the best we can for ALL students.
Cheers to another wonderful year!
